As you may have already noticed, gas prices have being "sky-rocketing" in the past few years. It is said to reach past $1.40 in the Summer.
Do you think that the rise in gas prices will affect how long and where people drive to and from?
The rising gas prices will make people drive less...
(5 votes for 62.5%)
The rising gas prices are nothing. They can't stop people from driving...
(3 votes for 37.5%)

Gas in these days are getting expensive for some reason, I have some idea why that had happened, it might not be right, but I hope that it support your question.
The US had taken over the oil from Africa, this war took such a long time, after tranfering the oil controller to the US, it had changed and the oil price had became higher and effected us, the citizens living in Canada, not only that, the price of the oil had effected the whole wide world.

People in general are not as intelligent as we tend to think. We could have been, or should i say we were, but now with the supposed "progress" that mankind has made, it seems our progress is beating us back to the stone age.
We abuse the resources that we discover around the world, and oversee the big picture. Rising oil prices should be the least of our worries.
Oil prices globally are rising due to the fact that the underground resources are depleting. Oil companies now have to dig deeper and further out into the ocean, use new technology (supposedly earth friendly), and with each country going into international territory to find oil, the entire process makes bringing crude oil to the surface more expensive. Add to that the market speculation on availibility of oil, international risks, environmental risks, that drive up the price of crude oil further.
Whats interesting is the big oil giants aren't showing their fears of depleting resources or rising prices. Maybe they aren't worried (or maybe I don't have all my facts togther) because they know things that we don't. Like availibility fo some other new resource (i hope), or just that if they do look more worried, then the stock markets will just collapse, bringing down their industry with it.
Bottom line is ... for how long?
Back to the initial point. People will continue to drive just as much, but will be more resourceful and conservative on the expenditure.
Ofcourse, this is just my opinion.
