i think they are fantastic.
artistic,,,, yea. ( i guess)lol
the reason being that i throughly enjoy computer games a lot.
its very engaging and artistic in a sense that it requires skill to make one and ur time to play one.
i mean there are pros out there who are extremely talented in various genera of computer games and compete at international level
now , it u think chess, football, golf requires practise to master,so does computer games and its beauty by its own right.
ya know wat i mean

It's really whether you're wondering if the art is in the game or is in playing the game.
Yes, the game itself could be considered a piece of art. It's essentially an interactive movie. Most have a storyline they follow, steps that must be taken, and these days, the graphics are more realistic than some animated movies.
In playing the games, possibly. Some may be passionate enough to call the time and effort put into developing the skills required to play some games the same as putting the effort into painting a picture. Also, if the person playing is skilled enough that the motions of the game are fluent and smooth and controlled, then yes, I would give it the opportunity to be considered art.

Many years ago, when Myst first came out, as I was playing it, I felt it was an artistic experience. It changed what I thought was possible in computer gaming.
Some software companies put more funds, time, and effort into developing the artistic aspects of their games than others.

I think that computer games are artistic. Especially when it comes to fantasy video games; I really admire the art and creativity for these games.
However, as video games become more and more realistic it is kind of a bittersweet thing. As video games come closer and closer to being realistic it kind of saddens me but as video games resemble a more complex idea, I tend to appreciate it more. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chantelle Ennis-Charoo
