What a great question.
Music HEALS.
Some composers deliberately create their music with healing intention.
We are fortunate at ABC4All that some of these composers and song writers have given us permission to use their HEALING music throughout the ABC4All Website.
Most recently, Charles Ball, from Network for Good, shared how much he loves to listen to the music on the site because he finds it so soothing and relaxing!
Try it! You might like it!

Of course music is powerful. It's a form of expression and one of the most common and most shared forms of art. People around the world can understand what somebody is trying to convey when it has been put into music.
In my daily life, music is used to calm and clear my mind and heart. I use it to relax me in stressful times and give me energy when I need to push forward.
For many other people, music will work in many other ways. You would be amazed at how many people I know that use music to define they're mood, rather than allowing they're mood to define the music they listen to.
As for changing the world, I wouldn't say that music itself could be responsible for that, seeing as it can't actually do anything aside from feed an idea. But if one were able to find music that would give everybody an idea of all of the pains and trials that are faced in parts of the world where they are no inhabbiting, then maybe things could start to change.

of course. music allows us to communicate messages that may otherwise be contravercial or hard to grasp. then there is the music of people like Bob Marley, who wanted to use his songs to change the world.

yes, music can change my day!
I listen to music as much as I can, so I have certain music I listen to with different moods, which is nice.
listening to music also helps me concentrate!
I think that music could definitely change the world, but people have to be willing to listen, and willing to change. and a lot of people aren't that willing, which is sad.

Yep music is definately powerful.
However it's even more than that it connects us as humans, it unites groups of people and individuals. It allows the listener to know that they are not the only ones who feel like this, that they are not alone in the world.
All different genres of music have become succesful because of this.
Just look at what James Brown did for soul. He spoke out for the people who needed it the most at the time. He was proud of who he was and in doing so made a whole generation relise that they were too.
[Without music, life would be an error.]
Music unites us, heals us, relates to us and moves us, what a shame it would be not to have it.

just listen to some protest music we have around here and you will agree thast music is a powerful tool for expressing oneself.
During the liberation of Zimbabwe songs were composed to speak against the Smith regime and also to motivate the liberation fighters. And it worked!
Music is a powerful tool, you can also listen to some "love songs" man i tell you if one is in love a song will have a different meaning

It might not be a conscious effect to some people but definately so to others;it is powerful. It pulls on strong strings, filters, and resurge from the sub-conscious to rule actions, plan and order behaviours. It is of such great power that breaks down all known and unknown barriers as well as forge groups strange to themselves be work together and so patterned.

Music is powerful. We have many types of music. NO one can resist music. He listens to it when he is sad. He listens to it when he is happy. He listens to it anytime.
Music is not only a tool for entertainment or relaxing but also a instrument to connect people. When I don't know what to talk with my friends, we usually talk about musics. We sings.
Do you know I am listening to music....... ?

Yes Music is. It has the capacity to inspire. Like a song I wrote. It has inspired many. Like Shirley Maclaine on this site. http://www.shirleymaclaine.com/encounter/showthread.php?t=209435
you see:
It would be an honor if you could check out my song. I made it for people who are far from their loved ones.
I was thinking about the soldiers and how each one must miss someone.
So far away sometimes where weeks feel like just a couple of days.
At the same time a minute can take a lifetime to understand.
I wrote this song where four minutes are really decades.

I sang and played the instruments
