I'd like to create awareness towards the violence and rape being committed in the area of Congo.
You can read my tigblog for a glimpse but would urge everyone to get more info and start talking about this.

Alone we are merely an idea but united we are action in motion.
Lets spread the word of what is going on inside that country, leader of countries should be at least talking about it and pass counter measures to retain this violence and injustice being caused to the human race.
I believe that any country that does not have a rich oil supply, or any real riches to exchange, will be on its own. If the nations of the world sent troops to Congo to end this reprisal, and retain those which are responsible for such acts, this unjust war would end quickly, and then Congo could in turn start to rebuild again by providing psychological help to all affected, the UN along with the red cross and Peace corps could go in and help with medicine so desperately needed.
So...Please lets keep on talking and create this sought awareness...

i have been following many resource based conflicts in Africa and trying to understand the underlying relationships that drives them. I have come to see that there are may forces at play and these include many of the so called superpowers. If you take the Congo for example during the Second Congo War how amny countries were directly involved and how many who were indirectly involved.
Look at Sudan how many of countries are involved directly or indirectly and we know this is becaause of their oil.
Its really sad
the question is how can we solve these resource based conflicts

Violence every where in Africa either as a result of power tussle or resources. Congo is blessed why can't the perpetuators of this violence come to a simple compromise for peace to reign, Killing here and there causing innocent people. Resource which where supposed to be used to ugrade the lives and living conditions of the people are now destroying them. Please we must find a way to make our leaders start thinking rational.

I've just recently rediscovered the realilty on the situation in DR Congo and how the rebels brutally rape / violently sexually hurt women in the eastern part of the country because women are the backbone of the country. I think that the governemtn should we doing a better job of protecting the women and everyone in general. Just becase the capital is in the west does not mean that the east does not exist or the problems aren't there.
Other countries should not have the right to barge in and take away the resources found in this region. I am acutally quite apalled, but I should not be, because this is Africa where anything can happen.
