internship funding

Hi everyone
I'm going to India this summer to intern with a community development NGO. I'm looking for a scholarship or grant to cover my expenses. I'm an American student in Canada, does anyone know of funding I could apply for? I've been looking for scholarships and grants, but can't seem to find any that I meet the criteria for.
Any tips would be appreciated!
