Hello dear TIG members,

I think that we can save the energy by following these ideas and actions every day:

* Change a Light (light bulb that is more efficient)

* Don't leave lights on when no one is in the room.

* Don't Leave Things Turned On

* Take shorter showers

What can you suggest also ? I am sure there are many ways to save energy just at home. Take two minutes to think about it and you will see by yourself.

Yes, much more:

*dress wool clothes in winter, so you can keep your house temperature lower

*Use bycicle as much you can

*buy Class A electric facilities, and the most fuel saving cars

*buy special double-glass windows pane

*insulate your house

*switch off every electrical facility you have. "Stand by" is unusefull!

*if you can, install photovoltaic panels, micro-eolic or micro-idroelectric devices

Energy saving/conservation is one of my favourite projects that we are undertaking.In our case-here in the rural areas we are currently concerned about the energy used for cooking.For instance our energy conservation technologies are targeting the households level i.e energy for cooking,and lighting.We have locally made stoves made of mud(Jiko Kisasa) and rocket stoves.This stoves assist in conserving over 65% of fuel compared to the other tradional Kenya/African cooking stoves(There are some justification on this).

We have also embarked on Biogas,for both household and commercial purposes.Still we are learning more on many other renewable energy technologies to disseminate to our various communities!

In the case of Nigeria, i'm encouraging especialy our National Eletricity Power Authority to give us adquate power supply so that people will instead save money to buy enviromental friendly appliance than spending huge amount buying private generators by which energy can be conservative and again to prevent lost of hearing from our young generation because the amount of noise produced from individual generator will undoubtable cause a lot of lost of hearing in next coming years...I mean the thing contributes also to health hazardsbig grin
