Anyone interested in linking students blogs (or other tech tool) in analyzing texts? You can see my major blog here and my text annotation blog here. You can see my student blogs on the right side. We're a school a bit north of Seattle, WA, USA with 1-to-1 laptops and would love to have some contact with other schools as we respond to cool articles, current events, and classic literature and essays.

Hi Nate - welcome to TIG! Check out the collaboration registry on TIGed, there might be other teachers there who have already posted similar ideas, and you can also repost your project idea as a good way to find other classrooms:

Nate. Just read your other post about video. Would love for you to join in on our project (s). Check it out and see if you are interested.
Our Cultures of Peace Online film festival, will begin in the fall of 2008. The Cultures of Peace" Online Film Festival http://culturesofpeace.ning.com seeks to virtually connect teenagers, students, teachers and schools from Europe, the Middle East, the USA, Africa, Asia, and Latin America in order to create English-language short films based on Global Issues topics and categories. Several awards will be given, one for Best Picture, Best Original Idea, Best Cinematography, and five (5) Best in Category awards. The film categories are: Celebrating Culture, Economics, Environment, Peacemakers and Social Justice. Our goal is to bring the award winners to Austria for a screening of the films and a live awards presentation, you can help us to achieve our goals by registering for the festival http://culturesofpeace.ning.com/?xgi=9OJDYvk and spreading the word to as many people as you know.
