[Poll] Womens Day Celebration
March 6, 2008 - 07:06 AM

Following the platform for action laid at the Beijing women's conference in 1995,much is left to be done for the woman and by the woman.March 8, is fast becoming a merry making rather than a day for reflection reflection. The rural woman in the developing world has been abandoned to herself.Instead they have been made to misunderstand what this day is all about.

Most marriages are strained at this time of the year when men refuse to buy uniforms for celebration. women are proud to call this day as their day and that men are to cook and take care of house hold chores.

What is the experience in your country? What is being done to make things right, just about seven(7) years left for the 2015 MDG target.???????

The time to act is now

"Interdependence is and ought to be as much the ideal of man as self-sufficiency. Man is a social being".
Mohandas Gandhi
