The mind is incredibly powerful ~ I guess you've heard of the phrase: "mind over matter"! The mind of mankind is actually causing all the destruction, pollution, wars, and hatred in this physical world. The is no evil which did not originate within the mind of man. The human mind is an amazing thing that will probably never be understood and is why neuropsych is a great interest of mine. The idea that we can think ourselves sick or think ourselves better or that our brain is doing tons of physics and other mathematical calculations everytime we look at something or do something as simple as toss a ball in the air yet we have no cognitive knowledge of these concepts is just baffling to me. Or the complex ways our brains our compartmentalized. Or how there's this one area of the brain that, when applied with an electric shock, subjects think they see "God" or there respective religious figure or report having a religious experience, even by those said to be atheist. Its fascinating. Or how when the center of the brain is cut (the corpus collosum) in the past for epileptic patients and then asked a question, like "What do you what to be when you grow up?", one part of the brain will verbally reply architect (left) and the right side will write out race car driver. Its amazing! I could go on forever...
