If you want to go into politics, start "seeding" a good reputation. Know what is happening around you. Be involved. Help the people in need. Be of service. Be a good follower as well. Learn how to speak well. Be humble and be with people who are positive. Check the election and voting rules in your country to know if you are qualified. But first, ask yourself, why do you want to enter politics?

Katea makes a good point - why do you want to enter politics?
Do you want to change the system? Do you want to enact laws? Do you want to have a hand in the future of your country? Are you thinking at a national level? Or at the city/town level?
One way to "sample" what political life is like is to get a job working for your mayor, representative etc - their offices will always require staff to operate, and you will get a chance to see what sort of machinery is needed to survive in politics. If you would enjoy doing what your representative is doing, then by all means, investigate the rules and regulations to find out if you qualify.
I'm not aware of what chances there are to do so in your country, but in Canada, its very easy to volunteer at our Member of Parliaments constituency office.

well democracy is about participation right?
the major reasons why i want ot enter politics as a youth is i believe the voice of the youht is being ignored by the politicians. i believe we can contribute more as young leaders than only as campaign people those who run the streets if you are familiar with third world politics you will know what i mean.Decisions which affect us and our future are being made by the people who are at times have no interests of the youth at heart.
also what motivated me was the African Youth Charterwhich pushes for the youth in decision making.I dont want to be behind the scene which i have done for so long and wait for things and decisions made on our behalf.WHY CANT WE TAKE OUR DESTINY IN OUR OWN HANDS?

Helllo, I think you should be careful taking note of the political issues in your country currently.I would advice you start from the smallest political authority with in my case is the ward in the local govt.
Even if we have to take part in decision making ,we would do that peacefully and wisely.
