Lets deal with one question at a time, though they are all linked. I think, drug abuse becomes a way of coping with difficuties. At the same time, it comes in the way of dealing with challenges of life in a helpful manner. It also impacts our relationships. I am sure there is a lot to add to this.
What do others say?

I definitly agree that drug use destroys relationships. Unfortuantely too many youth turn to drugs, including alcohol, becuase they feel that they don't really have any close relationships. I think that one way to help youth suffering from addiction would be to simply stick by them and not abandon them though that is the easy thing to do. Perhaps if people were more willing to stick by those who suffer from addiction they might be able to pull themselves out of if before it destroys them.

a drug is a substance that changes the physical and/or chemical aspects of ur body.
Drugs used for medical reasons have impact on the body but they are tested and counteract the illness/injury you have.

Youth are already affected by drugs. In westernised countries the access to drugs is increasing and younger and younger we see youths exposed to illicit drugs. Drugs like ecstacy and marijunana are being used for commonly as access increases and people are aware of these drugs. It is unfortunate that times like these have come where a youths body and mind can be corrupted to an extent they may not function properly in later life. Drugs not only affect the youth at the present but can have a detrimental affect on them in years to come aswell.

We have in Australia campaigns to raise awareness of the effects of drug use, this is proving to be a successful one, however the success would be to eradicate the need for campaigns such as these by getting rid of supplies of these drugs that are harmful to the user and the people around them.

Ok! One by one =)

What is Drug?

Any substance taken into the body that alters normal body processes.

How it affects the youth in terms of behaviour, impression, health, mentality and character?

I would like to say what I have always listene from the elders "anything taken to the extreme is bad"... abusing of drugs it affects very much altering everything. Youth behave wanting to have the control over their life, not listening to their parents, and just wanting to become "rebels", fighting authority.

When will the youth be affected?

As soon as they become dependent, the damage is big enough to notice but I believe that from the first time they take them...

Where can they get help from?

Family, groups, special centers for yotuh in drug problems, etc.

I think there is another issue, as important as the mentioned:

Why do youth go into drug???

For me I assume that we try drug out of curiosity but for some it goes to addiction, what is this background that makes the difference???

And after that, we can, as individual start thinking how to fight the drug addiction spread among our peer…

Yes, CNAB. I agree with you. The fact that we, youths, go into drugs out of curiosity.
However, there are many various reasons into why youths start the habit of taking drugs and thereby abusing it.

Factors that lead youths into drug taking:

- Environmental factors : the availability of drug substances, the high rates of transition and mobility, and community disorganization. This mean that when these youths travel from places to places, they tend to meet new people all the time. Through this, they face the danger of being exposed to harmful substances like , drugs.

- Family factors: family history of alcoholism, poor family management, parental drug use and even family conflicts may result in them taking those.

- School factors: Academic failure which results to low commitment to school

One of the most common way that influences youth into drugs is definitely their friends.

- Peer factors: Peer rejection, early and persistent problem behavior, alienation and rebelliousness, friends who use drugs.

Upon researching, I realize that these factors do apply to those who are on alcohol abuse too.

Yes, so here are the factors that leads youths, or shall I rather say, us, into drugs and even alcohol taking and abuse.

The impact of drug abuse on youths will result in problems namely health problems, social problems, psychological addiction and physical independence.
Due to drugs, many of the drug addicts tend to lose interest in everything they do and they will try anything possible to get their hands on drugs. they look down on community as hide away in corners away from them; failing to mingle with the community forced them continue this bad lifestyle.

hello frends,
it's very dangeros for use A drug, broadly speaking, is any chemical substance that, when absorbed into the body of a living organism, alters normal bodily function.[5] There is no single, precise definition, as there are different meanings in drug control law, government regulations, medicine, and colloquial usage.[6]
