"If you don't stand for something, you'll fall for anything."

There are various sources for this quote...

I have several I love... such as

1. if you don't know where you're going, you probably ended up NOWHERE!

2. God is a specialist to make improssible thing possible.
- hey... it's true... GOD prove that He's a specialist every single day for me.

Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine.

- Ralph Waldo Emerson

I think this quote is beautiful. It makes me believe that there is always a brighter side.

I like this one as well:
Do not wait for your ship to come in, get in your boat and row out.

This one tells me to take chances, and don't let anything go away.

My best quote came from my late Uncle George "You can not be everything to everybody, but you CAN be something to someone. Is that not enough? When we accept this simple fact then the rest of our lives shall fall into place."

I have few more interesting quotes as well:

If mankind is to survive,
We shall require a substantially new manner of thinking
.”
Albert Einstein

We must begin to see the possibility of evolving a new life style, with new methods of production and new patterns of consumption; a lifestyle designed for permanence.”

E.F. Schumacher

Ayman

Pardon me, I've got some few quotes and not just one (best).

"It is not how far, But how well. . . "

"When the preferable is not available, then the available must be prefered".

This implies that we should give no room for excuses, especially if what we intensely desire doesn't get to us, we should learn to always make use of whatever we've got.

"When a man's way pleases God, He makes his enemy to be at peace with him" The Bible

"Life is too brief to do ill, do good unto all" Tosin

"It is well"

etc

"If you have one simple thing, something that's yours, that comes from your soul, something that defines you, makes you who you are, than nobody can touch you" - Jonathan McLaren (myself)

"Best friends are the end of the beggining and the beggening of the end. They are the end of who you thought you knew yourself as, and the start of learning who you really are" - Jonathan McLaren

"I have been impressed with the urgency of doing. Knowing is not enough; we must apply. Being willing is not enough; we must do" - Leonardo da Vinci

"Without love, we are birds with broken wings." - Morrie Schwartz

Just my small input...

What a wonderful topic, its really interesting. Well, i have two favourite quotes about the nature of men and women. The first is "As a rule, man is a fool. When its hot, he wants it cool. When its cool, he wants it hot. Always wanting what is not." Anonymus.
The second is "Women are like tricks by sleight of hand,/ which to admire, we should not understand." William Congreve from Love For Love.
I think they are true, but to a certain extent. Of course they cannot be generalized over all men and women. But I guess that its true that there is something ambigious about the nature of women that makes them ununderstandable, and I think its also true that most of the times men choose wrong times for doing somethings.
