LET NATURE TAKE ITS OWN COURSE
December 4, 2007 - 10:42 AM

Sociologists have at times warned against taking radical measures towards eradicating the social inequalities arguing that we may lack labourers to do our gardens and wash our bathrooms when everyone is equal.

That being a cruel reasoning mode, we should simply approach the reality this way, say you give everyone on earth USD100,000. After 2 years, we may go back to the same arrangement that we have today with only a few people whose lives may have changed. Those who were rich will remain rich and the poor ones may misuse their money and still be poor after two years.

The argument is those people at the top of the ladder have a sharp business mind and they were to be rich anyway while the poor ones lagged behind in their thinking.

That could be true.

What do you think?

In the Bible, there is a tradition where every 7 years, all the people in a village put all of their things in the center, and it is divided equally. This way, you have 7 years to amass wealth, and then you get to do it all again. It encourages actual equality... why can't we do that?
