hate

i had a really disturbing dream last night
woke up in a cold sweat
shook me hard
struck a deep chord that hasn't stopped reverberating:
it first started out at work
we were closing
doing a pretty bad job too...
then it jumps to later on that night
where a friend i work with is severly beaten
blood and tears everywhere
beaten up by a good friend of mine
in a drunken rage
i see my friend in the hospital
he's being fed through a tube
intensive care
i see that other friend later on in a parking lot
later on that day
sun is shining
pavement burning
i could feel it
we argue about what he's done
he calls me a fucking whore
a dumb bitch
i tell him that there is no way of justifying hate

hate is a state no-one ever slips into willingly. It is always a psychological flaw, we all have the capability to hate without discrimination. It is what we, as humans, have done for so long.
We can be afraid of what we not know.
We can be afraid of what might happen.
We can be afraid of not being in control.
We can be afraid of being afraid.
Fear leads to hate, hate to suffering (rather well-used cliche, but still right)
Suffering - is what causes the cycle of hate to continue. With the sword of resentment, comes the blade of revenge.
