[Poll] Public Dress Code

Unless you live in no-man's-land in the South Pole, you've noticed that the public's wardrobe has become... scattered. Whether it's an old guy wearing white socks with his sandals, a hipster wearing pants that are 12 sizes too big, or a young woman who "pretends" not to know that her hot pink thong is hanging out the back of her jeans, you can barely walk down the street without seeing an ensemble that makes you do a double-take (or triple-take). Should someone tell these people it's inappropriate?
Southwest Airlines certainly thought so. They recently asked a scantily-clad 23-year-old college student to leave their airplane because her outfit was too revealing. The airline explained that they didn't want other passengers to be offended. (The student will appear in an upcoming issue of Playboy under the title "Legs In The Air."
Should people be following general "guidelines" when it comes to their wardrobe? Or should people be allowed to wander the streets in whatever they want, including ridiculous, over-the-top and revealing clothes?
Should the public be told how to dress?

You Seem to have given the answer above. It is really a disturbing trend that we all need to check. I mean it is not every body that is interested in seeing what should be hidden (I am talking with particular reference to skimply clad Ladies). Some people really have a way of dressing that puts people off. They may like it, and may not care what others think but it is most times downright ugly and visualy offensive. It may be that I am talking this way because I am from a conservative culture, but this I think is the truth. We all have our likes but let us also respect the dislikes of others. Nothing puts me off more than seeing people in the wrong attire.

I guess it all comes down to what is your norm in your society and culture. Living in a city that's is one of the biggest in the world, seeing people wearing everything you could possible imagine, ridiculous and over the top, conservative and revealing, trendy and ugly, it's a normal thing to see while walking down the street for me. You also learn how not to judge and that everyone is entitled to dress however they want but there are some exceptions that people have to take in consideration, depending on where you're going.
But I don't judge, people can choose to do or wear whatever they want but that doesn't mean that it's how I'm going to act or dress.
