Lots of countries don’t have clean water. So it is our duty to help them clean their water. If we make water purification system, they have to be easy and they should be able to make them in their own country. Our class is doing a project on water purification systems and we are trying to help those in need of clean water. So what kind of water purification system should we make so they can make their water clean? Without boiling the water. Should we make it big or small? Should it have a lot of materials in it? What kind of material should we use? Any suggestions? Please feel free to post your ideas. Thanks!!!!:-):-P;-)

How to Make a Water Purification System

The one thing that you would need to make a good water purification system is to have permeable layers so that the germs and "nasty" stuff are filtered out and only the clean water is left behind. It always should be very small and be able to be taken anywhere.

I don't think anyone here is saying that! The project is trying to find a good purification system for places that currently do not have clean water.
Now for the question at hand..
For transport reasons smaller rather than larger is always better. Multiple layers is key for low cost installations. It also allows for a low cost way of "changing" the filters which saves money! Plants, sand, charcoal are all good filters.
Good luck!
