IS THERE NO CURE FOR CANCER.

Am so shocked when i heard that the only man who brought glory back to Nigeria by winning the under 17 world youth championship died of cancer of the lungs.
At the initials stage ,back in Korea he was diagonised of the disease and was given some treatment and he was once well again to continue his coaching job then in korea.
But to my greatest surprise he came back home with the trophy just after some days he broke down and was supported with a life machine. Just yesterday i got sadden when i heard he is dead.
I must tell you that i felt so bad that i could continue what i was doing.
I later asked my self if there has not being cure for cancer.
I need you guys to help me out with these Question.

for now, there are no certain cure for cancer though life can be prolonged further. yah, its a sad reality. actually, ive asked plato about it since he is a med student but hes not losing hope..his field is not losing hope..
i know the doctors/scientist are doing their best to finally find the cure for it.
let's keep our fingers cross and for now, the least that we can do is to prevent it by living a healthy lifestyle(",)

Right now currently there is no cure for cancer, but researchers have been looking for a cure for many years now. I've heard that they have a cure but aren't 100% about it yet so that's why there is "no cure" to this day. With the ammount of money they get for finding a cure for cancer, they will find a cure soon! Don't lose faith even though it might be hard right now.

Sadly, this is true, there is no cure. But there are many, many expirimental drugs to combat cancer. Sometimes they work, sometimes they dont.
Some of my more religious friends say that prayer actually works to cure cancer.....

But if cancer is detected at the early stage, there is a possibility that something can be done. I have already seen some success stories about cancer and many of them did not fell ill of cancer after recovery.
The best way I guess to combat cancer is not to find cure as this proves to be very costly, in terms of monetary value and life values, given the fact that those processes that kills abnormally growing cells are expensive, there are also no guarantee that oncogenesis will never happen again.
It just so happen that cancerous cells do not choose the person where they intend to grow. As mutations can be arbitrary for everyone.
People I guess, must resort into healthy living so as to prevent abnormal cell growth that leads to cancer.

Who really knows what the future medical technologies will hold, I anybody did know, I'm sure we would have found a cure by now. If not for our generation, hopefully for generations to come in the future.
Although so many charities work tirelessly to try and find a cure and raise funds, cancer is still a reality that everybody has to deal with.

Honestly, i believe that there is a cure for cancer and AIDS but that it is being regulated. Magic Johnson has had Aids for years but looks just as normal as he did before the news got out. As a matter of fact, he has gained weight.

dear CHYBUZ...
calm down beb....
all Disease have the cure (including HIV)
For cancer, if we diagnose it in earlier stadium, we still have big chance to cure it well.
if we found it in worse stadium, we should make surgical operation for losing it. after that, we continue by laser and others prosedure.
and...for addition informations, cancer mammae still be the number one killer to young girl, cancer cervix folow the next for merried girl.
for man...do not worry...u never get cancer mamae or cervix (hehehe).
u just got cancer prostat as the first rank cancer in genitalia of man (adult to old)
and...lung cancer become favorite cancer for man with smoking Hobies ^_^
Better for us to PREVENT it than CURE it.

*ahem* a friend of mine had skin cancer until recently, the doctor said she would be lucky if she survived. The first round of chemo nearly killed her. So she switched to alternative, which was extremely successful. Then her parents were charged with neglect :, even though it was Gina's idea in the first place to switch to alternative, and Gina was forced back into chemo. It seems to me that Big Pharma is trying to keep the success of alternative medicence quiet.

There's a cure somewhere but its also important to recognize the diseases often mutate and redesign themselves so the "cure" may not be effective for long. Just look at all the strains of the flu. However, one type of "cure" is hope and support which as been showed in numerous research studies. For instance, cancer patients who attend support groups are found to significantly prolong their life expectancy and at times recover. Although this approach may not work for all, I believe its important to remember the power of your outlook. If we can think ourselves sick, then to some extent, we can think ourselves better.

Ms. Meyers, it is not a matter of us being sheep, but the lack there of. People used to believe that leeches would save every illness just because maybe once someone improved after the treatment. Yes, leeches have their uses, even in modern medicine today, but we now know that common blood letting practices that were once commonly used for everything were often more harmful even though the people ("sheep" followed this belief for decades without proper testing. That is why treatments today need to be tested from a logical and ethical stand point, because we do not want to experiment blindly on people, giving false hope or harming those we should be helping.

Generally people do follow the FDA because they choose to trust something that has more knowledge over something than they do and because its the law. So in this respect I'll agree with the sheepiness (I'm starting to like this word). However, there are always times when the FDA messes up but it is usually because enough testing wasn't done, such as with vioxx. The FDA riddles out what's really bad and its up to us to decide what's right for us in what's presented in our legalized choices by doing our own research.
