I believe the saying: the youth is the future. So it is just right that the youth will be aware about the politics. They are the ones who make big votes nowadays. We are relying to them for they have the power to make a change. They must vote for a good official. Actually this issue is not a joke. I really agree that engaging youth in politics do make sense.

Thanks for all those who shared their opinions I learn points of view...

I think it would be beneficial to start educating youth in politics before they are able to vote. If you start educating them early on, then when the time comes to be able to vote, they'll know what to expect. I never really learned about politics until it came time that I had to. So when I had my first opportunity to vote, I didn't, because I had no idea what was going on. I didn't know anything about conservatives, liberals, NDP's, etc. I didn't know the differences between the parties or the candidates, so I wouldn't have been making a good choice by voting without any prior knowledge. If we start educating youth early on about politics they will have all the facts they need to be able to make a proper vote that counts and matters to them.

Youths must have to come forward to become active member in politics. Youths are known as the nation builder and politics is the best way to do so. So I am totally agree with this point they must have to contribute in Politics and move forward along with the country.

Hi guys, this is Haley! And, you may or may not know this, but I am a youth! And I'd like you to know that I'm actually very engaged in politics. My history teacher keeps us updated on current events, and I usually know what's going on in the world.

YOUTHS HAVE THE KEYS TO UNLOCK THE FUTURE YET. THEY SHY AWAY FROM POLITICS. MAYBE BECAUSE OF OUR CULTURE THAT ENCOURAGES SUPERFICIALITY OR IS THAT MOST OF THESE POLITICAL STRATEGIST DONT KNOW HOW TO REACH THIS YOUNG PEOPLE. AM IN INCLINE TO THINK THE LATTER IS CORRECT. YOUTHS CANNOT BE AND WILL NEVER BE DIMINUTIVES OF THE ADULTS, WHO ARE LESS ENERGETIC, PRUNE TO BE SIT BACK AND THEIR BEST ACTIVITIY IS MOSTLY INTELLECTUAL SPECULATION. TO REACH THE YOUTHS WE NEED TO MAKE POLITICS ENTERTAINING INFACT POLITAINMENT. THEN, ONLY THEN CAN YOU GET THE ATTENTION OF YOUTHS ANYWHERE.

well that problem is not only in america but here in tanzania also a lot of young peple aged 15-25 are in opposite side with politics.....but as a way to overcome this situation is to enable these youth to engage in governmental matters where they can get motivation and the needy to know more especially the political situation of tanzania..

Personally, I think politics should be a greater part of early education. Looking back at my years in high school, politics was not a subject that was explored too much.

The problem with being cool is that is tends to make people relaxed which results in ineffiency.
Think of it practically, politics are serious and require deep analyses cause ur representing alot of parties and opinions.
When fashion is involved in politics, its seen that politicians are serving the interests of the people but their own

We have the same problem in India too! I think the fault lies in our education. My history text book taught me all about the constitution and the names of all the presidents of my country. But never did it lay stress on importance of voting. Or talk about how corruption has taken India to the dogs, and standing up to the politicians is so important. Once you pass that impressionable age, apathy is all you feel

This just does not happen in North America, it is becoming a problem in Africa as well.... Nigeria in view. I guess the way out of this is to get the youth understand their role in their society. That can be done through forums and workshops. I like the Mock Voting thing.
thank!!!
