Have needless wars not Underdeveloped Africa more Than Corruption and mismanagement of Resources?

A report by OXFAM International, a British NGO, Submits That 15 years of war has cost Africa $285 billion. An amount which can bring a lot of transformation to the so called Dark continent. This is not to mention the human rousources these wars have so extravagantly wasted.
Considering all these, is not save to say that these needless wars have contributed more to underdeveloping Africa than corruption?

war cost a lot to any country. In the case of europe, we had a high level of living after war cos we had to rebuild all, of course this was possible cos we had fundings and credits from banks and from america.
The question is maybe why did africa had so many wars? what caused it? Most wars were caused by a group against another. Partly cos the countries created my colonisation dont make sense in the way that the people of the said country have few links wiht each other. The actual borders of african countries are the resultant of a share of the land and its ressources between the colonialists.
Well this was up to 40 years ago, i agree. Actually african feel that they are Nigerian or Senegalese etc more than Igbo, Yoruba or Wolof.
Unfortunately, colonisation's violence and world bank exigence made african countries to stop social services, built up dictatator and corrupted leaders..
Personnaly i think it s partly linked to capitalism. IN Nigeria for example, money is the key to feel big, to think you have a good life, you must be wealthy.
The main goal of wars, but also corruption and colonisation is money and power.
I think it s time for this world to see that money is not the only way to be happy but that it can destroy many lifes like it did and does in Africa.

You have said it all in this line. The world is filled with people who have very wrong ideas about life. It is really puzzling why this category are those who find themselves in places where they can affect the lives of many. But that is so much for the best of possible worlds. To even think that power and money can inform the wanton distruction of human life and its purpose is abhorent, and downright animalistically crude, but these people actually do it. A kind of indication that not so many have transcended the beastly perspcetive of pleasure and materialism.

thank you all for your contribution on war and africa, i will only say two things on this matter, firstly, war on africa have always been spearheaded by our devloped brothers who want to sell their arms, they make so much money from the proceed of their arms deal that the donate peanut tto those war torn areas.
Secondly, these wars are caused as a result of unequal distribution of resources as a result of corruption, thaes corruption are facilitated also by our developed brothers, when they borrow us money, they are sure of recieving it back through our corrupt leaders within the next few weeks at the end of the day they will qoute outraggious amounts that have never benefited the common man.
finally, you can not start solving the issue of war in africa without first of all solving the problem of arms proliferation into africa. THE UNDERLINING FACTOR BEING APPEALING TO THE CONCIENCE OF THOSE ARM DEALERS.
