" I think it will be interesting to understand this discussion with a majority/minority point of view. What minority does is usually different/abnormal for majority. "
In my country, I'm in the abnormals, in the minority.

Gays and Lesbians are people too.
they should be allowed to marry, adopt children, and do as they please, like any other. Just because they are different doesnt mean you should restrict them.

This is an interesting subject that fascinates people for some reason unbeknownst to myself. Human beings have a natural aversion to that which is different, always have, always will. One thing about the human condition is that unlike other animals we have the ability to rise above our nature with the use of reason. Things such as the Civil Rights Act of 1964 prove this even though it had to be basically forced upon the citizens. Point being that what is popular is not always right.
I am a thirty year old homosexual attorney who has never told anyone I am gay, basically because I am petrified to do so. I spent the first 25 years of my life praying to god to be heterosexual, and the last few as a non believer, and today I am closer to Bhuddist than anything else. I believe in equal rights for all people even though I would never choose to be married, others like me should have that choice. Everyone is entitled to their opinion but I think it is important to note the elevated rate of suicide for gay teens who are inundated by the media with questions of whether they are worthy human beings. The Civil Union is the 21st century equivalent of the three fifths compromise. The fact that civil unions and gay marriage is legal in one state and disputed in CA shows the trend of the last century is toward acceptance. The USA will see gay marriage in the future, but who knows when.

As I've stated above, I believe in equal rights for all people, including gays.
Call me a hipocrite, I just believe marriage is a sacred bond between man and woman.
I support, and quite adamantly support, homosexuals enjoying all the rights and benefits of a marriage, however, under the benefit of a civil union.
But an interesting point has been brought up in relation to God and religion.
I'm a proud Catholic, and without getting too religious, my favourite part of scriptures, the part that inspires my faith is located in the Gospel of Matthew.
It's where Christ is judging who will go to heaven and who will go to hell.
Essentially, he condemns those who have not shown love to an eternity in damnation and those who have shown love ascend to the utopia of heaven.
Now, to me, in spite of watch my Church may say, no matter what you look like, who your friends are, what you wear, what job you have, or even whether you are gay or straight, God will never punish those who have loved.
And that's the God that I believe.

I have nothing against gays or lesbians. People shouldn't be mean or abusive to them! They're people too. I understand why people don't accept them (well I think I do). It's because of their religion, and that shouldn't matter. I'm pretty sure every religion teaches to be respectful to everybody, even their enemies. i don't have anything against gay or lesbian marriage or love. It's natural for them (and if it isn't please correct me), meaning it's not against nature. Plus that's how they were created (again, correct me if I'm wrong).

I disagree, i think that its against everything that you are tought in church and it contradicts everything you are tought as a child and of what god expects of you. Somethings are just not accepted, or right in my opinion if god wanted these types of relationships then 2 men or 2 women would be able to concieve a child.

The way I see it, there are so many children across the globe who are in dire need to be adopted right now, this could simply be god's way of evening things out.

I say the same goes for religion. The religions I've studied always teach loving, respecting and helping each other. Not dicriminating and shunning.

many people say that gay marriage is abnormal. most of the religions oppose gay mariage,
people say that in this world most of human activities are for some purpose
like sex is for reproduction. so i think that gay marriage can no have such productions..........................
yesterday i was lestening to BBC world service they were giving a report on New bacteria type Called MORAS or USA300 which resists most of the anti biotic medicine and that can be dangerouse enough to kill some one.
they said that this disease is abondant in USA and mostly in HOmosexuals....
transmitted to other person in close Physical contact.....................................
this also shows that homosexual is some thinng that is not usual and normal.
so what is your openion about this.?

It is important that we remain open to other perspectives and continue to question our opinions. If we read the reponses of other members in this thread, hopefully some questions will get answered.

All man are born with rights and previlages. To me it is right to express my right and allow others the right to do so...as such every one should be able to enjoy thier right expect the right to kill one self.
These subjects refered to Gays should be left to enjoy thier rights....its is for them.
