Needs are those basic things that are necessary for human survival. One cannot do/live without them. They include food, clothing and shelter.
Wants are secondary needs. One can survive without them. They are meant to make one’s live better e.g. education

I agree! Need is something people have to have in order to live. Or need is something that is required in life. Want is a totally different meaning. people dont really have to have it in order to live. Want is what the wish for to make their life better.

Glad to see that the both of you know where to draw the line, but some don't. The up and rising problem in many country is the people who give in to their wants. For example, I don't need that SUV but I want it because it looks nice, hence more pollution. I don't need that extra side of french fries but they look so good. These pants don't have to be purchased by me but I really want them.....etc.... How can people be so excessively wasteful and not even realize it?
