IS THE WORLD SAFE WITH GLOBALIZATION?

The farthest city in the world is merely 24 hours away, a call way, or can even be seen live on TV thanks to globalization. However with all its attendant advantages it also has some disadvantages.
If the world is unfortunate enough to witness a fast spreading and deadly epidemic like SARS or even the ebola virus, the possibility of this reaching the remotest village in the globe is just 24 hours away. Again, intellectuals have argued that the rate at which cultural bounderies are falling in the part of globalization may not be a very positive clime for the thrieving of minority cultures. Experts even predict extinction for these cultures in the nearest future.
With all these can we still say globalization is a totally healthy trend

If you google 'Wired', there is an excellent article on the spread of disease and globalization in the May edition.
Enjoy

Well, globalization seems to be something which happened yesterday. In reality, it started long time ago, and usually stopped only in time of war.
Considering that globalization blossoms in time of peace, I would say it is positive. Provided institutions and individuals are able and willing to protect rights.
There are health issues, but technology and medical reserach is advancing fast. There will always be deseases, but I think we will be able to cope with them and minimize side effects.
In a globalized world, we all need to be responsible, because what we do here can have a leveraged effect on the rest of the world. Information and leading by example are ways we can make the world more responsible.

Just like urbanization comes with pollution, globalization must also carry with it some negative aspects. We cant avoid that and the best we can do is try to reduce the effects of globalization.
But we must take the global route.
