World's Most Powerful Air-Delivered Bomb
September 12, 2007 - 01:05 AM

|
Here we go again.
Is there any difference whether the weapon's environmentally friendly or not?
The weapon is four-times more powerful than the Massive Ordinance Air Blast bomb tested by the U.S. military...The new weapon disperses a cloud of explosive material that is set off by a charge and produces ``an ultrasonic shockwave and an incredibly high temperature,'' Perviy Kanal said on its Web site. After the blast, ``the soil looks like a lunar landscape,'' according to the report.

That is the thing with powerful states. Is there anything anyone can do against this? Only weak countries are punished for such an activity.

It seems like the only thing you can get in trouble internationally is being to weak and poor to defend yourself.
Some on needs to get more of the world angry at the sort of destruction powerful nations are capable of bringing now.
A new Geneva maybe?

Honestly, while i do not condone the active testing of any kind of weapon of mass destruction, one must also think, while this is a very powerful weapon, it is nowhere near as destructive as todays modern nuclear weapons. One thing that i do wish to speak out about is russia's blatant publically announced testing of a weapon that one only wishes would not be deployed and used on the conventional battlefield should a war break out with the russians. This is a sign of aggression as we have learned from the Cold War of the 40's-90's. This type of behavior should not be allowed because while the weapon is non-nuclear, it has the capability to start a new arms race, leading to yet another cold war that may not stay so "cold" this time around.
