We need to communicate well to motivate the people involved in implementing for many women empowerment issues. though there is an army of people in every developing nation to implement these issues, they neighther communicate effectively nor take it as very important issue. If we can change their behaviour and communication lot more can be achieved within the available finaces and resoureces

Hello,
I am from India, and working in the social sector for the past 4 years, my area of work is education development, corporate social practises for sustainable development. I agree that the level of communicaiton and interaction, sharing among the non-profit sector especially among the grounf level staff is very poor. This needs to be changed. I have been thinking of ways to try and improve the situation as only more knowledge exhange can help improve our work and interventions. pls comment and provide ideas.

In some extent I agree. But do you think a hunger can be motivated from your effective communication? To whom you want to inspire - excluded group or those elite people who are excluding deprived groups?

Hi!
I think all social actions can be divided into short term and long term.
An example of short term action is the delivery the food and shelters to a population affected by natural disasters. In this case, people need to get help promptly. After they got it, they need to be reassured the situation is under control. In this case, communication is more about informing potential donors to act now and reassure locals.
When it comes to long term actions, communication is often the more important factor. Nothing happens if people are not motivated. People in need should understand that acting now is important for their own survival, while donors should understand that we are one world and one people. If people around the world do not have the necessary to live, we need to act, too, because there is no island of happiness among unhappiness.
So yes, communication is very important. It can be done with traditional media, but it can be very costly. It can be done online, but in some areas that means to reach only a restricted elite. It can be done by meeting with local readers, listen to what they say, find an agreement on what to do and then have them communicating action plans to locals. In education, that would be a "train the trainers" approach. In my opinion, these and other methods should be integrated to make them work.

Take a look at UN institutions such as UN Global Compact (especially on issues related to human rights, anti-corruption and environment) and UN Global Alliance for ICT and Development (GAID).
Also for pioneering social entrepreneurs look at activities of the biggest and the most famous one of them - Ashoka.
