yeh interesting question.
As you know that stock exchange system only regulates the buying and selling of stocks, and the brokerage houses carry out all the the transaction. there is a fee to open an account of brokerage house. As if some one has the money in the bank and he dont know how to invest and earn money from the stock exchange, he can consult the brokerage house to do the business. even they will guide him and also they will seggest him that when he should buy or sell the shares of companies. when that lay man spent time with the brokerage house, definetely he will learn the mode of transactions and trends of index. Also there are some blue shares which have a hope of not loosing the price, he can purchase first those shares and then do some more transactions and then i think with little effort of learning more and more knowledge abuot the companies, their policies, projects and general trend of market. Also he should be aware of the political environment of the country so that to avoid loss.
Normally every one who do business in share wants prices be uplift and there should be bullish trend, so if the economy is sound and all the influencing factors are +ve then i think more and more people should take part in the stock exchange business.

Stock exchange has its own shares of risks and profits.
If you are a novice and planning to invest into stock exchange, then I would recommend you to do a detailed research on various companies before purchasing their stocks.
2-3 years back, nobody would have imagined that companies like GM would be filing for bankruptcy someday. * --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Penny Stock Pick Alert

Investing money in the stock market is pretty easy. To invest in the stock market, you first need have a brokerage account. I would recommend going with an online broker because they are economical and easier to use than a convectional broker. Many brokerage accounts need a minimum deposit. This can range from $300 to $3000. It just depends on the broker. The real work starts after opening an account.

Public Limited companies have the privileged of register in the stock exchange. Thus they can sell shares to the public. According to the demand and supply of shares decides the share price increase or decrease in the stock exchange. Thus some shares are in more demand than the others and its decides with the popularity or image of the company. so share prices are vary daily basis and those published in the daily newspapers for public reference. Now a days these transactions and communication can be done with ICT.

The stock exchange is a great place to make money, so also to lose money. This is why People are advised to consult their bankers, stockbrokers, accountants and solicitors before makin investment decisions.

They say the only way to make money in the stockmarket is to "buy low and sell high." Of course these points are really difficult to recognize!
I don't know the situation in Kenya, but I strongly recommend you go with something called a mutual fund. This is an investment where many investors buy shares of a large pool of stocks or bonds. These mutual funds have diversification (many stocks, so if one goes down, maybe the loss will be offset by other stocks), they have professional management (these pros will know far more about stocks than we novices can ever hope to and they have a trackrecord too) and ease of investing (some stocks cost $1000 per share, most mutual funds sell for two digit amounts). BUT NOTHING CAN GUARANTEE YOU WILL NOT LOSE MONEY!!!! These days the only "sure thing" is an interest-bearing bank account. You'll sleep a lot easier!

One has to be mentally prepared for the best and worst before trading stocks. The market is almost unpredictable. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- www.WooEB.com is the global network where you provide the content.
