TIG and Advertising

A continuation of my previous post
One thing that we need to be cognizant of when dealing with corporate sponsors is that they will always want something in exchange. It's almost expected: we are giving you $X, so we should be receiving something of equal value in return.
Without getting into conspiracies and lambasting corporations for being "evil" - let's discuss something more concrete: advertising.
Advertising is a primary reason for a corporation to sponsor anything - it gives them exposure to a (potentially) untapped audience.
What I want to know if how comfortable are you with advertising on TIG's website? Are there areas/sections that shouldn't have ads?
Also think about the types of ads/recognition - if cash from a tech company goes towards maintaining these discussion boards, would a simply text line suffice? (ex. "TakingITGlobal recognizes the support of Company X"
I want to hear what the TIG community thinks - so encourage your friends to comment!

Right now there is NO advertising on TakingITGlobal's sites - we have never entered into any agreement with any company that has resulted in recognition through advertising.
I'm curious to know what you consider to be all this advertising on our site over the past 2 months?
Could you tell me which pages you think have ads on them?
Please also let me know if you think that there is a difference between an advertisement and a logo?
