i have been studying guantanamo bay and how harshly the people are treated in this camp purely on speculation that they are "supporters" of terrorist organisations. i am embarrased by the Western worlds handling of this situation as i feel that people deserve the right to a fair trial but due to their "non conforming" to the geneva convention these people are treated like some sort of animal ..it saddens me to think that our world is capable of such terrible things when it takes just as much power and resource to do evil as it does to do good so all i am really saying is why are we promoting bad influences when we should just stay out of other religions and cultures lifestyles.

Those guantanamo so and so's are such hypocrites. Never ever ever ever will we or any other American or Anti-terrorist person will ever be able to say anything about Al Queda beheading some guy AGAIN!
We have a friggen cow every time Al-Queda decides to have a hostage situation and yet we have like 900 middle eastern men in Guantanamo Bay... being held hostage... being subjected to the crapping on of human rights... having their lil sacred book flushed down the toilet... and basically being treated like dirt... and still theirs no evidence against them... SO I say good job when Al Queda grab a hostage. How many will it take for us to realise we are a pack of inhumane, racist, hypocritical bastards.
America needs to get a brazilian!!!

i am on the same page as you with this. why should the us be able to destroy families like that and hold many innocent people without a trial and if they do get a trial, a fair one? it hard to bebelive that some humans are capable of such evil things and that they can treat poeple in such a cruel way.

It's actually not *too* hard to believe. Have you ever heard of the Milgram experiment? People, if okayed by authority, will go surprisingly far in torturing someone. Even to death. Just because they were told it was okay to.
