Claims that Beer is the salvation of the planet

I have heard a lot of interesting weird and wonderful ways to save the environment and stop global warming, some practical, some not so.
But Greenpeace have decided that drinking Beer could offer (along with the use of some other renewable energy sources) a viable alternative to nuclear energy.
I’ve moved from being solidly against N power towards the middle recently but the more think about it the more it seems that global warming might well be being used to push the nuclear agenda and perhaps circumnavigate more viable energy sources waiting in the wings for major government investment.
I'm just not Sure any more, think I'll have a beer and ponder!
Watch the Greenpeace trailer here:
or see the full campaign info here:
is it really a viable option?

The only problem with any of the biomass solutions is that it would require a huge amount of land to grow crops for fuel. Of course, nobody can argue with the popularity of beer.
I also noticed that Greenpeace made claims on combined heat and power (CHP). They forget that most of the CHP is from natural gas (fossil fuel and greenhouse gas). If I electrify with nuclear (or wind or other low carbon combination) that may gain greater greenhouse gas reduction than CHP with natural gas. You might even have more energy available to brew beer...

This seems ridiculous. Beer is not a solution. This seems like a promotional add from a beer company, what else is new?

While what is said MAY be true, we can't always believe what we hear. Also, if this IS true, then people who want to do it and believe in it should drink responsibly and not over do it. Otherwise, we are just going to increase the speed of global warming by wasting resources and making fires (car crashes while drunk, etc).
