[/b] my idea of a perfect school is that it promote wholistic development for its students in terms of academic competence (knowledge and skills), right attitude, and has love and respect for the entire school family.

here in the Philippines, many are still dreaming of a perfect school, while many also claim that their school is a perfect one especially those who are in private schools.

well, private schools here is far different from public ones. mostly, public schools are for the poor, the facilities are inadequate and most are not suited in achieving high-quality of education, scarce educational resources, and lack of teaching force. in private schools, its vice versa...

with such problems, students are still dedicated to their studies. no matter what school you are in as long as it provides education and promotes and respect one's right for education, everybody is welcome!

i had a big problem with gym class in my school. it seems like all we did is run in circles or do "circuts"--basically more running in circles but whith some jumping jacks or such thrown in. i wish that the gym teacher had been able to come up with some more creative ideas. i love the idea of martial arts for P.E. classes, but we didn't have the option. fencing, japanese sword fighting, and just plain hiking are some other possibilities that sound fun to me.

I do think a perfect school should focus not only on education bt,the outside world. Each and every individual should know what awaits him/her after completing his/her studies.

perfect school?? Id rather thought it was an oxymoron since most students arent fans of school!! smile But however, the school I learned had an uniform , extra curricular and was well equipped and facilitated. I guess it 's more important that students of all races in the school received equal rights. There are times that preference is given to the majority of a particular race .
Apart from that, most schools in my country would face the problem where the teachers would have to cover the assigned syllabus so fast that it might cause some children to not to be able to follow up. No offense to the teachers, it's hard work , but since they have to rush, some students actually do not have the luxury of catching up certain work . Also politics , this is even seen in schools , where some teachers favor some students, not in great terms with some. It just creates great havoc. A perfect school would be a place where you dont find any of that. Where equality would actually prevail!!

a perfect school to me it a good, healthy and conducive learning environment.not only that but with good teachers ,because in the part of the world where i come from ,teachers are not well paid.,which could be very discouraging, and the teacher on their part could be very lazy and this is usually the problem with school.so before we start talking about perfect schools ,we should think of making the profession appealing and prestigious.

Topherhunt,
The problems in school we get nowadays, it will happen in the third world one day in the future. i can be sure that. If there is many obstacles, it doesn't only obstruct but also give them the strong power to get over obstacles. That is the reason why you can see many people learn in the third world. But I think it is so wonderful. They know exactly their dream and how to do it. They respect and pay attention so much on what they are studying.
The school I went everyday isn't like that. I usually wonder myself if a student respect their teachers_ all their teachers_ is good or bad. They are not like as we think if we near them.
The perfect school is just in our mind. The school's customers, regulation, teachers are our thinking. No perfect school is in this world because no all of students love their school. It is the truth. The school maybe your own perfect school ideal, but it doesn't mean that others also think like you.
As I said, facility is one of the reasons that we can't have a perfect school. So I want to suppose that we had not facility as the third world, would everything be brighter? would children love school?

Interesting?

A perfect school - I don't think there can be a perfect school.

A school that is considered to be perfect depends on the individuals view of a school.

One thing that can make a good school is a team dedicated to advancing the education of its children at any cost.

The idea of a "perfect" school, is in my own opinion, that in which student and teacher are peers not adult and child. An abuse case is taken seriously and followed through with 100%. One where bullying and hazing are taken seriously and people relations and common sense are more important than any federally appointed system of conformity.

the place of the teacher in the school is now being replaced by technology in our zeal in trying to create the perfect schoolshocked. I think the perfect school is not really that hard to turn into reality or expensive. my perfect school comprises of a dedicated and relatively well paid teacher equipped with the relevant instructional materials in a class filled with minds eager to learn.

the best school or education is that that comes from home. Homeschooling is the best way to teach kids. Parents are the best teachers.

to a degree, yes, kids can be taught amazing things by their parents that many don't even think about. at the same time, it is important for kids to encounter different ways of thinking and it is good for them to be able to meet "specialists"--if they are learning about cooking, a parent can teach them how but education can be enriched by meeting bakers, chefs, caterers, nutritionists, etc. hands on knowledge is very important. maybe education should include job shadowing for all their interests, whether they plan to persue them as careers or not.

ot an extent i agree. as a child gets older, and is ready for college, the need for "specialist" as you put it become very important. i do not believe that higher education can come from the parents or if it can it is very rare.

from the stand point of public school it is mostly waste. that is not a condemnation of all involved with public school however. Education is a funny thing...the differences in how people think our children be educated. I dont believe in homeschooling because I believe it shelters a child, but because it gives more education to the child.

hi guys its the first time to post to this forum i really liked ur topic jennysmith. i think that the perfect school is the school which creates an enviroment where the child can express his/her creative abilities. God has created no one with out any abilities or talents and the perfect school plays the most important role in discoverig and developing these talents and abilities in children.

i think the perfect school asdide from homeschool is one that teaches reading and writing etc. stuff like political correctness and homosexuality etc in our schools is a cancer.
