i usually information in the internet for my lessons. I use both GOOGLE and YAHOO. because each of them has their own characters. YAHOO gives me another sites, and GOOGLE gives me anothers. Of course there are some results that are the same. But i think i can save me time by not clicking CONTINUE by using both of them. But i like GOOGLE more than YAHOO.

Me too, I have always preferred Google, since it actually works as a Search Engine, and not solely commercial driven website.

Dear Friend
As per my experience and point of view Google is better than that of Yahoo. technically i don't know the mechanism how Google and Yahoo Search. but most of the time that i am doing my projects and searching for information related to my subjest i found Google much better than Yahoo when i search on Yahoo it retrives un related information. but Google retrives exactly what i need. because Google is created for Search.

Google leads and this is greatly as a result of its's openness.
Its services are not too different from other Open source applications online. Any body is free to suggest improvements on any service, and in some cases, test new applications online before they are made public. As a result, many internet users are part of Google directly or indirectly, creating a huge community.
This community is now targeted by marketers ready to offer the most interesting bid to rank first in search results, and sponsored links accordingly.

Well, from the day i first experienced GOOGLE search i have never searched or used any other. i think google is a REAL Search Engine with the best and accurate search results.
secondly, GOOGLE has googleTalk, GMAIL, GoogleDesktop which are nice tools to use.
I wil never change from GOOGLE to anyother search engine.

From personal experience I think that Google is the better search engine. A couple years ago Yahoo may have had the upper hand with 'Yahoo Geocities', but now that Google has been expanding on the services they provide [Google Docs, Google Video, Google Maps] they simply have the upperhand.
Growing up I always used Google primarily over Yahoo because the site was user friendly, as well the search engine results were of better quality. Plus it is always cool when you search your name on Google and get something aboutt the true you in the search results.

Search engines are a major part of the internet. Without it, finding websites would be akin to finding books in the library without the serial numbers – only, the internet would be a library holding tens of billions of books, in essence making it an impossible task.
The best known internet search engines are:
1. Google
2. Yahoo
3. MSN
4. and All others – AltaVista, Lycos, Ask Jeeves, etc.
Google is the definite industry leader in the search engine market and with good reason. I have set Google as my default page on all my web browsers – ie, Firefox, Safari Opera and Chrome. Since I lack in-depth knowledge of other search engines, I will simply list why I prefer Google search.
First and foremost, Google ranked pages 99% of the time are exactly the information I am seeking. Which is to say that the algorithm they use to rank pages according to keywords is highly accurate. A simple test will confirm this fact.

Secondly the sponsored (paid) links are listed to the right side and top of the search page. These sites are usually 100% accurate provided the keyword selections are accurate. For example, looking for best dog food for your pet will result in poor listings if you use “pet food” as key words.
Third the Google interface design is simplicity itself. It loads in an instant, is uncluttered and enables me to get to my task without many other distractions.
Here are some weak points of Google that could certainly be improved.
a. The search results usually lists multiple links from the same site. This I think is redundant. It should “pivot” the search result to a single url for each site.
b. Many times, the search result links to a powerpoint file or pdf file or some other document. I think it should lists documents separately from site urls and it should list the index page of the sites and not the inside pages.
c. It should provide a user friendly keyword suggestion interface to enable new users to find relevant keywords for their search. Google does provide key word guide but it is not “user friendly”.
d. Finally, it should also provide details of page views and frequency of unique visitors on all the search listings.
