I would like to know what people think will be the most popular profession in ten or fifteen years from now and why?
I think that computer engineers will be a very popular profession because of all the computer exposure we have at home and school already!

i agree with you jaclyn.
in most situations, computer technology has become a very important piece of knowledge that we have to learn in order to keep with the trend and the education. computer technology is really popular in the 21st century, it would eventually become more and more hi-teched. education and many other professions may involve some cases where computer knowledge takes place. it is a useful and important resource in the future.

yah i think i agree as well computers would be huge in the future and i also think any jobs connecting to the media might be popular as well because of everything we constantly see and hear possibly could have got people interested in this field. I think celebrites probably have an imapct on most youth as well and how they want to be just like them when they grow up, although i'm not definite.

I think the jobs of the future will lie in Bio Technology.
Computers have been around for a while, they'll be more like a fridge or a tv for the next generation. Bio technology seems to be picking up like computers did 10-15 years ago. With the mapping of the human genome anything is possible.
Imagine a programmer that can reprogram your immune system....

yea, it might me true about bio tech, but I don't think that computers will get to the level of TV and stuff... it helps people too much and its too good to live without. We live without tv, we don't watch it, may be movies sometimes, but not much. And we live ok. But I don't think that its so ok to live without computers as it is without tv. I think it is now and it will remain one of the most popular jobs...

maybe the most ignored or the most hated job, now, will in the next few years be actually the most popular.so,it might turn out to be a very interesting activity if you guys list down the jobs you hate or you think are the widely disregarded and we might get our ultimate choice from there.i have done it but you go first............!

The market will be flooded with computer scientists and engineers since thats the popular proffession at the moment and everyone is doing it.
I however have no idea of what the most popular profession will be 10 years down the line.

I agree... I'm not sure computers will be at the front any more. More probable would be things that make lives easier, services/products for older people (large baby boom population is getting older) bio tech and environmental things as well. Most of these are industries that are just beginning to really get going and only time will really push these things to new levels.
