The world cannot achieve the MDGs in 15 years? This is a critical question that needs urgent attention. What is your opinion?

I think 15 years was plenty of time to acheive the goals, but we let those first years go by without too much action, and I'm not sure if the time we have left is time enough to make the progress we should have been making all along AND compensate for those first 6 years lost...

It is possible even though much time has been lost. This does not mean that everything must ge to a stand still. By using the right approach, investing on the youth, the world can achieve these goals even in less than 15 years. The ball is on our court. Lets play on.

i do strongly believe that the MDGs can still be achieved.thie is all based down on doing small things like they say small drops of water make a big ocean.if we individually can start projects that witha positive motive, then all the goals would be achieved in a small while than waiting for big projects to come before we start working.its time for more work and less work.
i think we could contribute by,starting with countries individually, look for ways of polling resources both in human and cash to do things for people.
its all about volunteering and working for little or no gains.

Meeting the millenium development goal should not be a matter of time but a matter of choice and determination.
If the policy makers and world leaders are really serious on achieving this goal, it should not really take that long to achieve it.

although we only have 8 more years to achieved the MDG, the 8 years is such a long time...if we start today even just to inform the people about the importance of MDG would really make a strong impact...
so lets not loose hope because we have a lot of time to achieved the MDG...
we can do it if we work hard for it...

I strongly believe that the MDGs will be achieved but not by governments .. from my point of view by many other elements .. like : Social Entreprenuers , Active Youth , Loyal Citizens .. etc
But we did really great over the past period if u put into consideration that we stopped for sometime with no single action .. so .. for now we are doing quite a great job but .. but we have to double our speed and make something tangible being acheieved
and thats all we can do for poor countries .. and please all of you remember that the Developed countries were the countries to make these MDGs .. they selected this challenge to be made .. and i believe they will finish it till the end .. but even if some results are not as we wanted .. at least we did something to these countries

I'm pretty sure the world could have achieved the MDG's in 15 years. Whether we actually will is another matter all together, and that depends on everyone from youth to volunteers and governments all working together. And if we're going to do it, as many people mentioned before me, we'de better hurry, as we've already wasted valuable time.

I am not trying to be pessimistic here, but realistic!, because to achieve the achieve the MDGs goals in less than 8 years would take a Miracle. . .divine intervention. . . . considering the millions of unreached citizens of the world, especially in Africa where poverty stings and the rate of HIV/AIDS infected people is higher. We need a change and we are hopeful of better days ahead. . . . I'd urge the UN to reinforce in their strategic plans and commitment . . . . and let's look up to achieving these goals by the year 2020.
It can be done, It must be done. . . .It will be done. .
Thank You!
