robots milking cows!!!!

I just read an artical in a dairy magazine about a robot that has been developed to milk cows. i dont know about you, but this scares me horribly. i live on a small dairy farm and it is already hard enough to compete with the "super Dairies" that milk as many as 500 to 800 cows. now they've given rich farmers another leg up in society--they will no longer have to work to put small farmers out of business.
the robot is supposed to help increase the amount of milk a farm can put out--but America is already over-supplyed. also, i believe that there is a special bond between good farmers and their animals. this way the farmers will rarly have to touch their animals. is this really worth it? what happens when someone creates a machine that raises babies more efficiently than a human? is it just me, or does this seem like more of a harm than an advancement?

Oh, an amazing robots milking cows!
anyway, it is a advancement in technology. when it comes to competition, if the rich farmer would put out others out of business, it depends on people but not technology itself.

In mya country in the 80s there came heavy mechanization in the farming sector and the small farmeers were suppressed by the rich heavy producers. Everything collapsed within two decades and now we are back to the small farmers and their sustainable farming methods. Techonology is good but if far stretched is harmful. We live in a universe where we are interlinked with the rest of the creatures. If technology comes in to break this link it will collapse.
I feel your concern, you may lose the market for some time but their approach is cannot live to stay.
For any change in society, there is always losers but time proves who is right, only sorry when the damage is already done.

this seems really threatning to me. people are losing jobs to [i]robots. and efficiency allows the markets to be flooded with an overflow of goods that can be offered cheaper. those of us who cant afford to (or do not want to) instal this machinery will have to compete with more goods at lower prices. that means it will be even harder to stay in business.
this website shows the trend of American farms.
[link="http://www.voanews.com/specialenglish/archive/2005-06/2005-06-27-voa4.cfm"]
"between nineteen fifty and nineteen ninety-six, prices of agricultural goods fell by more than fifty percent. So, the trend toward increased productivity has meant lower prices. "
and now they're increasing productivity even more! people talk about farms disapearing. now it's easy to understand why.

""Yeah. In the modern world, there are predictions that robots will be substituted to the works and people will become unemployed. The ones that doesn't have work stay outsides the towns and they have to make their food in a very difficult way. Once again the age of slavery again alive. ""
Those things I read it from a book translated from English to Burmese.
Yeah.
I agree that robots will be substituted in the places of human beings. But they can't beat us. Cos we are the ones who create them.
Humans always win.
