What did you eat for breakfast?

A culture is not just a religion or a different series of holidays on a calendar. It is, among many other things, a cookbook.
We have a good international crowd here, so I ask what people eat for breakfast in different places. I'll start it off with some plain old American cuisine. Hopefully, any other volunteers will have more interesting descriptions. Or will they? Has Kelloggs conquered the planet?
This morning I had half a grapefruit (my grandmother got the other half), a glass of milk, an egg over easy (a simple dish consisting of eggs flipped over halfway through cooking and sprinkled with a bit of salt and pepper), and a slice of toast with butter on it. This was actually a bit big compared to my normal morning meal, which is just a bowl of processed milk and cereal (I love Oats and More) and maybe a banana.
If I was feeling really extravagant, I would have had an omelet. This is two fresh eggs that have been cracked into a frying pan, scrambled and then had a bit of cheese and peppers or whatever is handy placed on top of it. The whole thing is then folded in half, producing an egg envelope with cheese and assorted things inside it. This is usually served with a glass of orange juice or a cup of coffee. Needless to say, Americans do not care much about our heart health...

Very interesting topic !
this morning, in Alexandria, my breakfast consisted of some white cheese, baladi bread (A typical Egyptian soft bread), a banana, and a cup of milk.
However, the usual Egyptian breakfast consists of an essential component: the ful which is a special way to cook beans.

i had ...........Food!
actually, it was a combination breakfast/lunch because i woke up late. someone will probably laugh when they hear this, but i had fish sticks with tartar sauce and some potato salad and apple juice. for those who dont know, the american version of fish sticks consists of overly-processed fish pieces (the kind of fish is rarely described on the box) that are pressed together and breaded. tartar sauce is basically mayo and relish(a condiment made of pickles, zuchini, pepers, and ?). The potato salad is made of potatos, more mayo (so much for health) mustard, celary, peppers, and (because it was a store brand) probably half a dozen other scientific-sounding ingrediants that the typical American has no knowldge of. i feel pathetically lazy right now. after hearing the lists form everyone else's country, it is no wonder that America has so many health issues.
aymanelhakea, your breakfast sounded really good. what's the bread made of?

Any food I have in the house!!!
This morning it was an egg sandwich.
I have no more eggs.
So tomorrow will be toast.
Until I run out of bread.
Then it'll be something else until I go to the supermarket!!!
I think sharing food between different cultures is a great way to bond with people.
