All talk and no walk!!!
June 11, 2007 - 02:01 PM

Ok this has been something i have yet to understand. People always say they want to help in anyway they can and when it comes to doing the actual work, they don't want to be involved anymore. Can someone give reason to this? Is it people are lazy? Are they scared? I honor this site for the attempts and some successes because the people on this site can make a difference. If there were more people like the ones on this site, imagine what the world could be like! Just a thought, thanks!

Hi Amanda,
This is a very nice question.
I think that maybe many of us want to help, but do NOT have in mind clearly what we mean by helping.
Maybe we should all think to ourselves how we can be of any help to other human beings.
I was reading in your profile how you are helping people by providing kitchen soup, and ...smile
This is wonderful.
I believe we should all clarify to ourselves that how we are going to help. smile

For example, I want to help by raising awareness on the Millennium Development Goals in my FMFH Project, working internationally to find ways to put an end to poverty, and ....

Bests,
Mostafa

It has been hard for me to find ways to help. Often, I've searched for weeks and came up empty-handed.

To help with this, my student group has started to put together a list of organizations who support certain goals (usually split up by MDG's).

This helps people feel more comfortable with their options and hopefully gives them the extra push to volunteer.

Search takingITglobal.org, it has tremendous resources!
