Star Trek and World Peace

This is just my ideas, I am just brain storming and I thought I would share it. I want to add more but I don’t know where to start. It is such a utopian vision to have a world that is like Star Trek. I know that would never be a place of peace here on earth because states will always have there own interest at heart. Fear from other states causes them to increase their security and thus creates the insecurity dilemma.
Once again using Star Trek as an example of the world that has achieved the goals of world peace. A world that is free form racism and conflict proves that this only exist because there is no fear amongst states. The fear is from the outside origins of the planet, different species and the great beyond of what is not known outside the realm. This is known as Xenophobia, and it is what prevents people to reason with one another.
A common interest which is the survival of the planet from other species in the galaxies is the goal of all states, and that states interest that are insignificant in comparison are no longer an issue.
The relation to Start Trek and the world today is clearly distinctive because of fear. In order to form world peace in the utopian sense which is founded on Star Trek, there must be a displacement of fear of states to form a global community.

>>It is such a utopian vision to have a world that is like Star Trek.
There is one episode of The Next Generation in particular that was quite interesting. In it, they find a human frozen in ice on another planet, along with Amelia Erheart and other people who had disappeared mysteriously from earth. The premise of the episode was that they'd been taken by aliens for some unknown reason, and frozen on this planet. Anyway, that's beside the point.
The man they found was a very wealthy businessman, adn all he wanted to do was get a copy of the new york times so he could check how his stocks were doing. When he found out he was hundreds of years in the future he got really excited, because the interest on his investments alone would be enough to make him rich beyond his wildest dreams.
Then Picard has to break the bad news to him: there is no stock market. In fact, there is no money!
The man doesn't know what to do, and gets very upset and sad at the same time, and he says "If you're not busy making money then what's there to do? What's the point of life if you're not making money?"
Picard, as usual, gives the best answer.
He says something to the effect of "Do whatever it is that truly pleases you. Do whatever you always wanted to do but could never afford."
The man says "But, but I need to be challenged! I need to work at something! If I don't need to make money, what shall I work at?"
Picard: "Work hard at becoming the best person that you can be."
Great stuff!!
>>I know that would never be a place of peace here on earth because states will always have there own interest at heart
One of these days I think the states will piss off too many people... and then the States will get itself into trouble, and they will need help. No one will be there to help them. They will then go through a lot of pain and suffering. This isn't good, but it is what will happen. That's how karma works. You kick people's butts, then you get yours kicked. Everything works like that. You win many hockey games, then you lose. Etc etc. Ebb and flow. The moon waxes, and it wanes.
>>The fear is from the outside origins of the planet
but even that fear only exists because other races haven't adopted a "prime directive" similar to Starfleet's -- not to interfere or harm other cultures. If they all followed that rule, it would be a peaceful universe.
Respect and understanding are key components to eliminating fear and hatred (and xenophobia).
>>there must be a displacement of fear of states to form a global community.
I agree. The more I think about it, and the more i use the internet, the more I think the idea of "Countries" is obsolete. Yes, we should have our own cultures, but I believe there should be some sort of powerful global government acting in the best interest of all peoples at all times. Forget about "geo-political and geographic boundaries". They just don't matter. Our economies are already global. The only problem is that the rich countries have vested interests in NOT working with poorer countries (who they currently exploit).
A big problem these days is that there is a huuuuge disconnect between the government and young people (the next generation).
We don't believe that war is necessary.
We believe peaceful solutions can and should be found.
We believe in recycling.
We believe in the rights of all people.
We believe in free speech, and proper education.
We believe in video games, and prefer to use electronic services over paper-based ones.
We believe music is a file, not something on a disc.
We believe that all people's votes should be counted equally.
We believe that the government doesn't listen and that what we do won't have an impact.
This needs to change.
We need to be heard.
The world must be healed.
