It is important that every country and society should be proud of its culture and identity and try to exhibit it wherever they find themselves.
Unfortunately with my brothers and sisters from Africa do not fully exhibit these unique culture to bring out their true identity especially when they travel to Western countries. Some change their accent, way of dressing, food they eat and total way of life to suit the Western Culture. I am worried and thinks that our Culture and Identity is unique and wonderful and its time for our African Youth to stop borrowing Western culture which is alien to traditions ,customs and practices as well as our true identity. In Ghana, our traditional music is been influence by so called hip pop sound and it has reduce the patronage for typical traditional songs which have a lot of lessons and messages. Culture and Identity encompases the total way of life of a people and therefore represent the national character of a nation. A nation that losses it identity and cultural values is characterless and has no strong foundation and future prospects.

Some people confuse it with modernity, and argue that borowing someone culture and way of life is innovation and moder*nity. I think is total ignorance and misplace priority that need to corrected.

Therefore young people must represent their true identity and culture.

You're right.
We should all be proud of our culture. I believe every nation has intersting and invaluable beliefs and cultures, and we should respect them.

Young people by following their likes and dislikes ,where ever they are ,are revealing their identity.
I believe, culture survives if dynamic and adapts to exposure.The thing is that they should innovatively adapt , which means keeping the values of tradition intact and within their life-styles.
