The greatest injustice

For you, what is the greatest injustice in the world?
Most of us have varying opinions on a lot of issues. We all want change.
Have you done something to correct or improve an unjust situation? If you have, tell us about it.

That is, frankly speaking, a veeery big field.
However, in my opinion, the greatest injustice in the world is about half of humanity suppressing the other half. (Yes, not really everywhere anymore, but there is no real equity yet.)

Wow. What a question... I haven't had someone make me really think long and hard for a very long time. Great question, although broad.
I'd have to say poverty. To be poor and become incapable of buying life's luxuries is one thing. But poverty isn't a lone problem. Because of poverty, a society is prone to losing it's livliehood and thus, more prone to increased levels of violence. This can often be attributed to things like decreased morale, frustration, and a lack of education for the poor drives many youth to the streets.
It also leads to a higher likliehood to contract diseases from drug use, unsafe work places, inability to afford medicare, etc.
As well, it affects the probability of young children attending schools. Because they need to support their families, many miss out on it or can't afford to go to school.
I'm sure there are other injustices in the world... but this one seems to strip away not only an individuals material wealth but their chances for survival and respect within a society.

The suffering of innocent victims due to terrorists` acts is the greatest injustice right now. Also, the fears of becoming future victims of such acts create a misery in the lives.

This is a very board question, but its still a great question.
In my opinion, the greatest injustice is any violation directed to dismantle the basic tenets of human rights!

Indeed, this is a very broad question and very difficult to answer because the world is currently facing different kinds of injustices in different levels. Some may be worse than others, and some may be entirely varying that their gravity cannot be compared with each other.
This just shows that injustice is relative. Each person will surely have his/ her answer depending on his values, experiences, culture, or personal history.
For me, the greatest injustice happens when innocent lives are compromised for political/material/ personal gain. In 1985 here in the Philippines, hundreds of people were killed because they criticized the Marcos government. Even those only suspected of being leftists were likewise tortured and killed. Just think of the Holocaust. The 9/11 bombings.
They give me chills all over.

injustice. A subject that unfortunately is such an intergal part of human society that we are taught from an early age that life is unfair. Now as a communist I am not sure how much I can talk about oppression or corruption of government but I want to put foreward the idea that the greatest injustice (in my opinion) is that of when the first soviet comitern was taken over by Stalin and turned into a abusive, destructive, paranoid entity which proceeded to anihiliate the very people the founder, Lenin, wished to save.

"Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere. We are caught in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly." (MLK)
Very broad topic.
Very simple answer.
INJUSTICE.

For me, I would absolutely have to say poverty.
There's so much we can do, as Canadians, or if you're talking about the world, internationally. For starters what about all that excess amount of food? This is a proven fact, every day there are 2 pounds of bread made for every single person, yet people continue to die of hunger. It doesn't make any sense. That's just one part of nourishment, there's also education, shelter, and much more.

This is very difficult question. Why.... Because of variable answers to it. As the citizen of a country living and existing in the conditions of war from its establishment moment I can say that injustice for me to be in the situation like Azerbaijan-My country. Our territories was occupied by Armenia more than 15 years ago. UN resolutions on the withdrawing armenian forces from Azerbaijan don't work. The international organizations are still tolerating this injustice. That is really, injustice. About 1 million people became the refugees in their own land. They live in the shelters. That is really injustice. I can't see my father's land. that's really, INJUSTICE.

IMO, the greatest injustice in all of history is not listening.
If we don't listen to each other's problems, how on earth can we work towards finding solutions?
If we don't listen to the voices of the oppressed, how on earth can we know who to help?
If we don't listen to the music that's created, how can we have a rationale discussion about the artist?
If we don't listen, then all that happens is a lot of people talking, getting louder and louder.
I believe that every injustice that has happened and every injustice that is happening, and every injustice that will happen are all the result of somebody not listening....

To me, the greatest injustice is the fact that while many politicians literarilly beg the masses to vote them into power; they seem to live in another planet when in office.
They dont sit for even a moment and think of projects that could bring relief to the suffering masses on whose back they climbed into office !!!

I agree with those who said injustice. It's awefull that some people pay for their acts and other don't... Money is buying far too many things these days...

i think that the great injustice in the world is that people in Africa are starving while people on the other half of the planet are dumping food.
