What does the constitution say about that?
I do not think criminals should be excluded from voting, but the ones that have committed capital crimes shouldnt be allowed anyways.
I believe it is a constitutional issues.

Well...Lucky America because in some countries people are denied the chance to vote not because they have committed any crime, neither are they not below the age of voting, but because of corruption, tribalism and bad politics. So America should count their blessings that at least one is being denied a chance to vote because he did a crime. I believe that a criminal is likely to commit another crime if he or she is not properly rehabilitate. Which means he is prone to commit election offenses, bribed in order to vote and perhaps even involve himself in violence. Look at it this way- that a person who has committed a crime is incapable of electing a good leader.
However, this is still not a good reason to deny such a person the right to vote. Many good people have elected bad leaders to office. i also believe that maybe a criminal can be a better judge of character than any other law abiding member of the society. They say set a thief to catch a thief. And who says that we are better than those criminals? there are many ways that we break the law and we are not taken to prison for it. In one way or another, we are all law breakers its just a matter of whether we are caught. We are still not denied a chance to vote, aren't we? I hope the American government should take note of this seriously.
