Employing a child in hazardous conditions is worse than employing an adult in hazardous conditions. Do you agree?

Employing Children as child laborers itself is a crime. I believe that any child who is been deprived of basic rights and who is been away from education has to be taken care off. Any work / situation which keeps the children away from school has to be considered as Hazardous as it effects the normal growth of a child.

To some extent, yes, employing children in hazardous conditions seems worse since they shouldn't be working and kept away from school in the first place. This doesn't go to say though that the adult's life is less valuable than the child's.

I'll say that it would be in vain to ask anyone who register in this site whether he is aginst child labor or not. Even though that most of people in the world give the positive answer, there are still some cruel company owners take their risks against the law. What we should and must do is to ensure that the goverment excute the laws firmly and effectively. Thus supervision of the media, NGO or citizens is essential.

Here in the English language press in Japan there are many stories about Chinese children and adults being kidnapped off the streets and forced to work in terrible conditions in the brick-making industry. They are kept like slaves, forced to work 16 hours a day, receive no wages and are beaten regularly. Parents of such children complained that when they asked questions about their lost children, the police were very uncooperative and probably were protecting the brick companies. Over 500 people have been freed from this slavery in the last few weeks and 27 people have been arrested.

it's pathetic. both chlidren and adults are humans. recruiting them for any hazadous work is **. but definitely worse for a child than to an adult because adults can, to the least think better in such situations and act properly as to what could be best for them.
and children are not employed, they are exploited.

i think ,both children and adult are all humanbeings created byGod,no one should be used against his/her will.hazardous job to children makes them not to be fit in their adult age while it makes the adult to die quick.

i quite agree with the quote "both children and adult are all humanbeings created byGod,no one should be used against his/her will"
but adults have more chances of survival in working in hazardous conditions that children. Adults are grown ups and they know things and stuff to do when working under such situation. Children being so young have less of expirience, so for them working in a such a way could not only give a form of physical disability bbut also may deprived them of time and enerygy nedded for education and social activities in grooming them to be reponsible addults.

Child labour is a very prevalent problem in many developing countries. I'm glad it's being discussed here and that so many TIG members are so engaged and passionate about this issue.

I disagree. I feel that children take up fewer cubic inches and therefore, they are less likely to be injured.

I agree with a comment made earlier that any work / situation which keeps the children away from school has to be considered as Hazardous. children should never be put in a situation where they must come to a choice between educations and working.

Yes this is true that children should never be but in the situation where they must work . But it is well known that in most cases there are no other alternatives for them. In countries where money and food are scarce, working is what they must do to survive! and in most cases the ONLY jobs available are hazardous.

Gap or Wal-mart or any other and even an exporter who supplies would not know the involvement of child labor in stitching garments, as is hidden practice and media takes advantage for its publicity. Media does not care the reasons or does not wish to highlight reasons and issues of child labor. Shame on such Media or organizations those do not highlight solutions to child labor eradication rather expose for own advantage. http://www.sadashivan.com/ Number of child prostitution and street children are increasing each day, each month and each year. Arresting child labor in factories in several countries have opened numerous fields for young children to opt alternate ways of sourcing money. New fields like pornography, sex tourism, plastic items, plastic bags and garbage collection, begging in streets, pick pocketing. Check video how children perform acrobat in streets and roadside. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u80UpcatrGI
