I hate to say this but it never will. That, however, does not mean we should not try to minimize terrorism in the world through proper education and learning how to respect the human life.

Fistly, can you identify what is the terrrorism? According to every people, the terrorism is difference. American say the person who attack by bomb in Iraq and Apghanistant is terrorism. But the Iraqi who implement the attack say that they are the heroes, brave death man of their nation and country.
Secondly, I think the terrorism dont end untill people dont change their thought. why have the terrorism existed?Because there is a world of difference among people. Unless we ignore the difference of culture, polity, economy...the terrorism will end.

You are right, there is a political dimension of the definition of the term. For instance, the Hezbollah attack on US marines in Lebanon in 1983--an attack against a foreign military, which had killed many Lebanese civilians and sided with the Lebanese government instead of serving as "peacekeeping force"--is usually characterized in the US and Israeli media as an act of terrorism. It is preposterous, to say the least.
However, terror is terror. When civilians are targetted, terror should be called by its right name whether it is committed by the likes of Hezbollah or a foreign military force or a state.

If by terrorism you mean guerrilla and psychological warfare, they are a permanent chapter in the tactical playbook.
If you mean a resolution to the issues with Iraq and Afghanistan and the defeat of Al Quaeda, I have no idea. It depends on how intelligent our future leaders are. The only thing that is guaranteed to end some of the bloodshed is the depletion of the middle eastern oil fields, which may take a while but will mean there is much less to fight over.

Terroism will end when we realize that it is an endless cycle, and actions to retaliate on terroism is just going to cause more terroism. Since no one will stand down in the face of terroism though (and for good reason), it will never end.

Of course it will never end. Any war is a terrorist attack. When the point is said that we can try and "minimise terror" I wonder, has that helped? going into a country and starting a war... has btw only created more terror attacks. People act surprised when the lil guy strikes back but it will continue to do so if people dont listen. We tend to think that our way is the only way. Once we can finally accept that other people think differently and we shouldnt kill them.. then terrorism will end.
The more threats people make, the more terrorist attacks will happen.
And lets not forget one mans terrorist is another mans freedom fighter.

I agree completely with Violetlovato. Terrorism cannot ever truely be abolished because you can define terrorism as anything whenever it suits you. What we need to ask is WHY "terrorism" occurs. As of right now we're trying to get rid of terrorism by blowing it up which can never succeed entirely for obvious reasons. What we SHOULD do is try and diffuse the bomb that is terrorism. We need to understand WHY there are people willing to die and kill for their cause; only then can we truely find an answer.

well, i didnt vote but i think terrorism will end or will come to its feet when the governmental administrations like BUSH, and all his supporters who are interested in War in Iraq and Afghanistan are perished away.
In my Point of View the Definition of Terrorism is :
"When Terrorists Act like no-Terrorists and no-terrorists act like Terrorist then we can call it terrorism "
