while it will take a nationwide program to totally solve the problem of street children, i've heared of individual people making a big difference to. i dont remember the story too well, but there was one lady who basically became the grandma of street children, gaining their trust, watching out for them, and encouraging them to go to school and get jobs. she ended up helping a ton of kids change their lives. sometimes it only takes one person who cares. i know that in places it can be dangerous to help street kids, but if we can get more people like this lady to go out and try to change the world, maybe we can get something done now instead of just waiting until a government program is established. maybe the Peace Corps could take on the challenge.

And people should stop the trend of this my son and this not my!. because parents are not the only owner of a child but the entire community, state, conutry and the world owns every child.

eduaction will do them good.they need to be educated,given means of livelhood and expalined the harms of drugs.this is the responsibility of both socitey and govt.both should shoulder the responsibility.

plato123, i agree with you. that is one aspect of traditional African and Native American culture that i love. they say that it takes a village to raise a child. once upon a time people believed in that. now society seems to have forgotten that and our world is suffering because of it.

hmm...this is noteasy problem to be solved.
we have to know why the children there?
are they help their parents to fullfill daily need?why?are their parents jobless or poor?how government serve their parents with a job?
or
are they in ther street for run away from their broken parents?
or
they just want to get more money to buy drugs?
there a lot reasons right...
and like gosht circle....cut all together for best solutions. ^_^

Here's a story of me helping a child of the street: It was a cold December day in Philadelphia. I had a warm winter coat on, it was my old winter coat and so a little small. I was out for a walk and I had $10 in my pocket. I came across a little girl, about 7 years old, in a thin coat shivering. I gave up my own comfort and took off my coat and gave it to her. I also gave her my $10 and took her to the local homeless shelter.
