REJECTION OF JESUS

I often used to wonder why so many people who actually met Jesus (in the flesh), and apparently saw or heard of the wonderous things he is said to have done, rejected him as a false teacher. Most Christians I have spoken to imagine that, if they had been there at that time, they would most certainly have recognised Jesus as the living Messiah. It is soooooo easy to talk and imagine with the advantage of hindsight, but things are not that obvious to eyewitnesses. How many people now would recognise such a Messiah, if God decided to send Him today? How many Christians today, would truly have recognised Jesus 2,000 years ago?

During the time when Jesus was still alive, the "disbelief" factor was also brought about by the doubt cast by the pharisees and scribes on Jesus. Only those who witnessed his miraculous works truly beleived in him.
Right now, the intense situations all around the world make it harder for people to beleive in a divine being/ savior. Some have simply given up on themselves. Let's just pray that their faith returns..

Although I am Muslim, I believe that Jesus is the messenger of God, and I completely believe that he is a Messiah, as stated in the Qur'an.

Usually man like Jesus who turn the world history into a different direction have radically differnent and unconventional ideas, be it their faith, their beliefs or their intentions.
It thus is anything but easy to face such a person and see in him/her what he/she is or is going to be. Especially, Christinnity didn't have an abrupt uplift during Christ's life. It is a lot thanks to likes of Paul and later on Jerome that it became established as a true religion, especially appealing to poor and lower classes. This is to say that such people and their ideas take some time to mature and yield fruits, and this is not at all easy to recognize for a contemporary who would meet Jesus or any other famous person like him in flesh.
