Music for change

Music has the power to move us.
For centuries it has been used as a means to express ourselves and share messages of hope, anger and dissent. So what good political lyric bands/artists are there out there?
Le Tigre is one of my faves, and Ani Difranco is another old fave.
Then there is the Kayne West song Diamonds from Sierra Leone talking about blood diamonds.
What else?

Music is a means to preacg to the people about a particular message. But what we have today coming out from some people in the name of music is rather sad.
The good old days when the nice people use music as a means to getting the people to be aware of the things affecting them + getting Governments t listen to the voices of the people.
It was such a lovely days to remember.
I still hold the men and women out there who use their talent in music to promote goodness and wellness.

Music is vital for humanity’s existence. It has such a strong power of connection. Personally, I a moved most by things more in the punk-rock subgenre. Toping the list for me is a band called Living Things. Totally politically incorrect and rather sarcastic, but powerful…very powerful. They’re a band out to make a change.

I would recommend music therapy. It has worked even for flowers it has worked.
Music is used to heal and relieve stress not only for human being but for plants-flowers to be specific.

It is really great that music keeps changing from generation to generation. In the past music only targeted the older people hence making the younger people feel discriminated.Nowadays, each and every person enjoys music coz they've targeted every market segment
Allows politicians to use while campaigning.
It ialso develops a person spiritually.

Some of the artists/songs I know that speak to social change are:
John Lennon
Bob Dylan
Pete Seeger
Rage Against the Machine
Bob Marley (Redemption Song/No Woman No Cry)
Elbow (Leaders of the Free World)
Rise Against
Ani DiFranco, who was already mentioned
I'll add more when I can remember more.
