Is buying players slavery..?

I recently read from the internet dailies when President Gaddafi said that he does not support the buying of players by clubs in Europe. He considers this as part of modern slavery. What do you think?:

I think President Gaddafi is right. Every player should play in motherland and for motherland.

Slavery is defined as a system using the enforced labor of other people. As long as those players are not forced to do anything they want and they are fairly compensated, I think it is okay.

I personally don't think the sale and signning of players is slavery since the fundamental principle of choice is not usually violated.
Football has evolved into a big business arena but not just entertaininment. This is what we must all realise -that the basic economics laws of demand and supply are truly having a toll on player distribution and payment.
There is no servitude in fooftball and there's no room for economic exploitation.

Well, every one desires to have a good life and hence i tend to agree with President Gaddafi. Is this statement above mean that it doesnt really matter if the master wants to trade you and sells you off without violation of law and uses your ignorance to gain some cash. What used to happen and stil happens in some part involved some force and beating. Today it involves bieng given money and good life to be sold which is still slavery.

I don't really think so, because nobody forces them to go play in that club!
