Are Women As Equal As Men?????

They say that in Canada, men and women are treated equally? But really are they? Like seriously, for example when there is a job required to lift heavy materials, they mostly pick men. Why I wonder? Do they seriously think that women aren't as capable as men? I thought that they said women can do anything a man can do. Then why is it that a man has a better chance of getting the job.
Another example is dangerous jobs such as mining. Most of the time, men are chosen to do the job. Why is this? Because they think that this job is too dangerous for a women, and a women wouldn't be able to complete the job. This is being sexist in a way that I am very offended.
Also, for a 14 year old girl, boys are aloud to do a lot more things than girls are. For example, guys are aloud to go out to the mall by themselves and yet girls aren't? But, I thought that girls and guys are equal? What happened to that statement. Also why is it that a guy can stay out later than a girl can. All parents think that a girl isn't capable of defending herself. That isn't always true though. Well..... what do you think of this?

in my aspect, i truly agree that women are definately as equal as men. although, sum people have less confidence in us girls, i think that we should indeed be treated the sme as others treat men. genderism was once existing in the past centuries, and it does now in certain countires. however, this consistence should be prohibited. women and men are both humnan beings and we should have a fair right in the society. everyone should be treated equally and fairly, no gender should feel as if they are been treated badly in any situations.
as a citizen living in the 21st century, i highly think that women are as capable as men, and should be counted in for being treated with the same manners as men. parents, on the other hand, most often treat guys as a more responsible and a more protective person. yes, that statement may be true as a fact, becuz guys do have more self defence and can protect themselves more than girls can. however, that doesnt really state that girls dont have self defence and cannot protect themself. i strongly think that parents should look at the view that girls can be able to take on challenges that same as guys and be treated the same way as also.

i dunt reallie no nemore...@times i do...well in my life neway...cuz all my guy friends know that juss cuz im a gurl...playing ports n stuff...ID KILL THEM IF THEY PLAY EASY...juss cuz im a gurl...however...in our whole society...tjz rite...somethings are more sided but then again i think...people act this way cuz men and women ARE different...though they have strong points of their own...they're built differently and think differently etc...to say that everyone in our media is sexist...i disagree...becuz both genders have qualities of their own...it's just how they use thenm to support our world...

I think its unfair when guys play easier with girls than they would if you were a guy because some of the greatest athletes in the world are females! I think that in Canada, women are treated more equally than they would be in other countries.

everyone alwayz says that women and man are equal.....but it really isn't like that..........if u ever see high skool games it's alwayz guyz aganist guyz and girlz aganist girlz...........why ia it like that?cuz ppl think that girlz playing a game aganist guyz is rough for them and they might get hurt............there's one example that girlz and guyz are not equal.i believe that girls should be equal to guys...........the way ppl seem isn't alwayz the way they are......girlz and guyz should be equal!even though each gender looks diffrent doesn't mean they can't do the same things..........i agree with tarnjit gill
that girlz and guyz aren't equal............and it shouldn't be like that...................

The only reason parents are not letting their daughters stay out for long time is because most of the crimes happening now a days are occurring with girls. Rarely do i ever hear something such as a guy being followed around and getting raped or killed. It's mostly happening with GIRLS. But why?? Is it because they think we're weak or is it just the fact that they think we don't know how to defend ourselves. Trust me women are just as strong as men and if they can fight back then why can't we???

It is true that women are equal to men but, in what aspect? You can not expect an employer to employ a female over a male in a mining industry. This is not biasm but it comes from the fact that Men are by nature muscular.
Each has a part where he/she is best suited in and this creates the equality. The fact that the two different personalities have their shortcomings and success cancel the supiriority of one over the other. We don't have to resemble men to be equal to them .
