We have to match every promise with POLITICAL WILL, and with REAL DEDICATION in our fight to end hunger.
the problems is that we are not sincere in the fight against gloabl poverty and hunger.
The answer is simply if the rich nations commits to eradication of hunger WHO WILL BE CALLED "POOR NATIONS"

Obiamaka,
I noticed that you have a degree in Finance. Look into Micro-finance. The one key to wealth is saving to finance industry. A child who can read, can learn anything.

I think there are two theoretical solutions. Preservation and Preservation !
Northern Kenya is a region in a seemingly perpetual state of hunger and maize relief is quickly doled out whenever those concerned in the govt hear the unfortunate news that two or three people died of it. Did you know however that there is a nomadic community within the same region that USED TO preserve milk by converting it to a powder after fermenting it?And that fermented food has been scientifically proven to be better than unfermented for hungry children? And did anyone ever hear of the abundance of fruits in the desert after the rains?
Traditional foods and preservation methods are not obsolete, in a state of peace they only need a little bit of refining for our hunger problem to be solved for the long term unlike the short term solution the maize relief would offer. The sad part is with the transition away from the traditional diet there is a decline in traditional skills and knowledge.

One hipotetical solution which came into my mind would be reducing huge amounts of money which is sometimes spent unneccessary on space research into the crops development.
Think that kind of 'move' in the industrialized countries could really help developing countries and save many lives. . .

The solution I see to ths problem, is that we should raise awareness, ask for global accountability, empower people living in poverty, provide jobs for them, and ...
