Are school boards hurting the educational opportunities of the students they serve

Personally I believe that they are throwing to much money into useless items instead of items that are actually needed by the students. From my experience they do not get the opinion from the students but from sitting in a classroom for 10 minutes. What do you think?

In my opinion yes. They are also hurting the employees and racially profiling their academic achievement now. They need to have firmer AA polocies for students and teachers alike. I also heard that we lag behind in content as far as multicultural curriculum and working with students from other countries. They are too close minded with their polocies and they react too soon with tests and evaluations. Therefore money does notgoto the student directly hense not a solid core education

I can't speak about school boards in other areas but I can say that most school board meetings are open to the public. If you are angry with your school boad or think they don't listen to students then ACT! Let them hear your voice. Most school board meetings allow comments from "the public" including students. You can also write letter or get a petition going. When properly organized and concerned, students can have a voice in their school. What you want to have happen might not always happen but at least you can say you had some input in the process.
