I think that the subjects art,music and dance drama shouldn't be taught because you dont have to pass them to pass a grade and if you dont take thoughs classes you can have more of the classes you need to pass to get more help if you need it instead of going after school or at lunch.

Well, I think French is a boring subject and I don't like it . However, I don't think it is a useless subject. I mean, the more languages you know, the better the opportunity you have finding a decent job.

i agree with you sukhpreet, first of all, in our society, when people look for a job, the most often requirements are that they would have to keep up on the technology and understand the changes that go around in the world. they should know what new technologies are. history is just basically facts that people use to experience in the past. in our community now, there is not much requirements in job oppotunities that people should know the concepts and understand how it was like living in the past. to most people, history and the knowledge of the olden days are not as important.
we should be caught up with the technology changes and not really necessary to learn about the past history. it may be useful, however i still think that the society doesnt require history as a skill to learn when we're looking for our future careers. so i think that the subject history should be eliminated and we should add in more time for studies of other more useful subjects such as geography. language, etc.

I also agree with Sukhpreet, i don't think that history should be taught. Why do we need to learn what happened in the past? We're not moving backwards we're going forwards to the future.

i think all the subjects should be taught because they are all needed later on in life. art, drama, dance etc. should be taught because they can be used as a career later on in life. when u think of a career surrunded by drama, art, music and dance u think about superstars. but who do u think created the commercial on the side of buses, and wut diploma did the ppl have to have to be in commercials.
history seems dull with all those memory works, but if we all juss wipe out "history" from our lives, then the ppl living after 3 or 4 generations would know nothing of wut happen before because with out needing to learn them in skool the information would be lost.

I agree with you sukhpreet! You are right. History shouldn't be taught. History is what happened in the past. We don't really need it when we start working do we? Arent we going forward in life and not backward. History does make us understand the our country or other countries a lot more about how it became what it is today. But do we really need to learn it? History is usually about events of a particular period, country or subject that happened in the past. In today's society people we need to know the new facts and technologies. Im not saying history isnt important but it isnt as important to other subjects.

personally i think that is important in elementary school to learn all subjects because we do not always know what we want to have as a career. If you did not take art for example, you may not realize you are very artistic or that you want to be an artist.

oh well i like all subjects in ur polls =P and love history in particular and will take French in future. =P
and im with u sopiemay on importance of H.
i think more subjects should be be taught.
but subjects shouldnt be made compulsary.
should be
more subjects, more choices.
rather than
more subjects, more classes.
