[Poll] Teach the youth and build a better and lasting Nation
April 1, 2007 - 12:41 PM

I believe that my country(Tanzania) should move 80% of its focus on teaching the youth. When i was young i was told that education is education even if its under a mango tree. I believe the west should help us through educational terms. Instead of sending us billions of dollars in grants and expecting the government will do something about it, they are wrong.
"Give Man a fish you can feed him for one day but Teach him how to fish you can feed him for ever"
What the west is doing is giving us fish, what we need is the tools to make our country a better place. So basically what I am asking is that the west should send us grants in forms of teachers taking into account there is a shortage of teachers in the country.
The government of Tanzania should also use the grants they get to allow lower cost of recieving a higher education so that everybody will get an education. With these actions taken, in 20 years Tanzania will be efficient in qualified doctors, lawyers, business men, politicians and most of all teachers who will educate the generations to follow. I believe the government of Tanzania and the countries helping it should ponder upon what really matters; EDUCATION.
